Restaurant La Grenouille

The food was abysmal. Only 4 out of 6 snails were filled. The meat was full of fat and sinew, inedible. The fries were the best part. What can you really do wrong with frozen fries? There was no discount. The interior is cheap and tacky.

Typical tourist restaurant, with quick dishes on the menu. Nothing flashy, not high quality but fine. However a bit on the expensive side for the quality. Please note that they only offer tables for people who are going to eat, and not just enjoy a drink.

We had lunch in a small square, very welcoming and good food, typical Alsatian

€17.50 for a tomato and burrata salad that contains five measly slices of tomato, one ball of burrata, and a bit of green salad for presentation. I won't be back.

The aperitif had barely been served for a few minutes when the main courses arrived: a cold, barely cooked tarte flambée and a hamburger served without asking how the meat would be cooked. We hadn't ordered dessert, just coffees, which were brought directly with the bill.

A small restaurant in the center. We stopped here for a meal after visiting the town. The food was good. We sat at the tables outside. Everything was pleasant. The gelato was also very good.

Ah, the frogs are always immaculate. Perfect welcome. Pure pleasure.

Ici, il faut accompagner le Crémant rosé avec de l’eau du robinet! 🥂 Impossible de venir en Alsace sans déguster une bonne choucroute. Pour finir, une crème brûlée accompagnée d’un espresso. After the meal, have a creme brûlée with espresso. Dessert is definitely a separate meal! The liqueurs of the Alsace region are suffering from overtourism. It’s Monday afternoon, and while there are so many people, the inside of the restaurant is strangely quiet. Here, drinking rosé crémant with tap water is a must! 🥂 It makes no sense to come to Alsace and return without eating delicious sauerkraut. Finishing off with crème brûlée accompanied by espresso. After all, there is always room for dessert!

The restaurant is located on a side street in the upper part of town. We arrived just before it opened for the evening, so the entire outdoor seating area was available. The menu thankfully included the usual Alsatian specialties such as baeckeoffe, choucroute, and various tarte flambées. The service was friendly and attentive. However, we found the quality of the food to be, at best, average. Of course, a restaurant can prepare a classic braised dish like baeckeoffe properly, but the meat was already almost dry, suggesting that it had been left to stand for an extended period. The tarte flambée naturelle was very sparsely topped, with very little crème fraîche, which also left an unexpectedly dry and bland impression. The prices are inconspicuous compared to the surrounding restaurants and therefore, considering the quality and service provided, very high and, in our opinion, unreasonable. For those seeking an authentic and regionally impeccable dining experience, a Winstub outside the tourist hotspot of Riquewihr is highly recommended!

DO NOT go here!! The only thing good here is the service and the wine. The food is very mediocre. Reheated spätzle from the oven, deep-fried frog leg in an empty ragout container, factory-cut chicken cubes in some sort of ragout sauce, soggy flammkuchen, cappuccino coffee was just regular coffee with a bit of cold milk. Etc. etc. I don't understand how some people can give this a high rating.. Maybe they should hire a chef who actually knows his trade. And explain to the young ladies how to make a cappuccino. A shame.. We had expected more from this.

I don't like to leave negative comments, but I was able to compare the flammekueche at this restaurant with the flammekueche at another restaurant in the evening and frankly there's no comparison. The first one was bland and tasteless; you even wonder if it wasn't industrially produced. They shouldn't offer flammekueche if they don't know how to make it. The rest of the food was basic: breaded escalope and fries. The service was fine.

The price-performance ratio is completely off. The young staff tried to be friendly, but the food was of abysmal quality. It was reheated frozen food with papery sauce, and the burger was completely raw inside. The ambiance was a completely mismatched mix of styles; the placemats were sticky, and some of the cutlery was made of aluminum. For this price, it's an outrage.

This restaurant is a disgrace! We booked a table for five people last night, and when we arrived around 7:45/8:00 PM, the kitchen was already closed and the cook had left. We drove for 40 minutes; you don't just leave customers with reservations standing in the door! This restaurant is a disgrace, and I strongly advise against going there. 😬😬 Especially since we were told when we made the reservation that the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM.

I really liked it! I tried frog legs for the first time - delicious!

Sauerkraut of exceptional quality, superb baekof and a surprisingly excellent frog tarte flambée; the desserts were also up to par, the staff were very attentive and the toilets were particularly clean – an address to recommend.
