Really bad service. We made a reservation up front because this restaurant has a terrace. We were placed inside because the terrace is full. This was okay, can happen. When we asked if we could sit outside because there was 5 tables free outside, this was not an option. There was a really bad excuse and the waiter got mad at us for asking why. Food was okay, but wouldn’t ever go back here because of the service.

My wife, our dog, and I went to dinner during the heatwave. The terrace was full, so we sat inside, in a corner of the dining room, which was empty. We ordered our aperitifs. The heat was unbearable, so I got up and decided to open the windows near us. The manager reprimanded me, ordering me to close them because it was a historic building. I understood and apologized. We noticed a fan at the back of the room, so we told the waitress we wanted to move. Once at the new table, I pointed the fan towards us, and the manager reprimanded me sharply again! What a joke. We were served our aperitifs and had lost our appetites. We politely asked for a bowl of water for our dog, and he refused! So we decided to leave immediately, taking the exact change to pay for our drinks. The manager gestured to the waitress to throw us out like common tourists. That said, we have family in Alsace. Vulgar behavior. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The place was extremely hot and stuffy, the staff were very rude, especially the woman who greeted us at the door; she was very rude and grumpy. I'm surprised someone working in the service industry could be so negative and rude. I have to admit the food was delicious, but despite that, I would never choose this place again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Don't let your enjoyable trip be ruined by dealing with grumpy and unfriendly staff.

The food was good, but unfortunately the service left us disappointed. We were a group of five, and only one person didn’t want to order a main meal. We were told, in a rather firm and unfriendly manner, that everyone had to order food. We travel quite a lot and have never experienced this kind of approach in a restaurant before. At first, we wondered if this was simply part of the French or Alsatian dining culture. However, after visiting several other restaurants in the area, we realized it was not. It may be this restaurant’s own policy, which is of course their choice, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. Afterwards, I read the Google reviews more carefully and noticed that several other guests had described very similar experiences. Had I read those reviews before visiting, I would have chosen another restaurant. It’s a shame because the food itself was enjoyable, but hospitality is just as important as the meal. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

We ate at this restaurant during our stay in Riquwihr and what a great place to eat. Food was great service was great and very refreshing. Never rushed. We highly recommend you trying it

On a Sunday stroll, the restaurant had the advantage of a shaded terrace, set back a bit from the main thoroughfare. The service was impeccable. The daily special, pasta with homemade pistachio pesto and burrata, was excellent! The tarte flambée looked tempting! The children's meal was average, and the rösti was a bit disappointing in terms of both taste and cooking; it could have been cooked flatter to brown more evenly. However, for a tourist town, and considering the prices of less appealing options nearby, I was still satisfied.

Excellent service and food

Alsatian food can be a bit old-fashioned, very hearty, and meat-heavy. Here they also have good salads and vegetarian options. The service is super friendly.

Friendly and quick service! Inside, it is a little bit uninviting. The food was fine, certainly not bad. But definitely not super special either.

The burger. Oh god the burger. Come taste this now. The service is quick. The Dopff wines are ballistic good. The tarte flambee also hits the spot. But the burger. Seriously. What is this?!? Wow. Merci infinement! Google says its not open for lunch but here we are. :) Also downstairs has the Dopff Domaine sales shop, don’t miss out!
