I went to Wistub de la Petite Venise, a highly regarded Alsatian tavern located in the heart of the historic Little Venice district of Colmar, France. The restaurant operates in a traditional wooden beamed house, typical of the Alsace region, with the interior decorated with specific rustic decorations. I ate Bœuf Gros Sel, an EXCELLENT choice, along with a Muscat d'Alsace, a dry white wine, extremely aromatic and fruity! If you are in Colmar, go to Wistub de la Petite Venise for the Alsatian atmosphere and EXCELLENT food!

The lamb was superb!

The food was delicious. The wine selection was superb; the restaurant definitely deserves a Michelin star. However, I have to deduct a star for the service. The gentleman at the entrance was very friendly, but the lady who served us was not. She didn't even provide a wine list and was rather rude, with a distinct dislike for foreigners. This is common in France, but at this level, it's inappropriate.

A small, very discreet restaurant offering excellent local cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious, home-style cooking; the staff were incredibly friendly and explained each dish to us. If you're in Colmar, I highly recommend this Wistub. Be aware, however, that the dining room is quite small, so it might be wise to book in advance if you want to be sure of getting a table.

Excellent Alsatian cuisine. Very friendly and attentive service. I would definitely plan to go there again on my next visit.

I managed to book dinner an hour in advance on a Thursday. I enjoyed trying some Alsatian cuisine. The food at this restaurant was good, nothing extraordinary. There were many flying insects inside the restaurant, which bothered me a lot. One insect unfortunately fell into my wine!! The waitress was not very friendly.

This was BY FAR the BEST meal I had in France and I’m still dreaming about the food from here. 1. Salmon Risotto (10/10) - you must get this dish, the texture is amazing, the salmon is cooked to perfection and the risotto itself is unlike any other risotto I’ve ever had. 2. Jambonneau (10/10) - the flavors are amazing, the sides could be improved but still giving this dish a 10/10 because the pork was really that good! The skin is crispy but the inside meat was so tender. 3. Creme brûlée (10/10) - they use real vanilla beans and it was the perfect level of sweetness Tip: if you don’t have a reservation, show up when we open otherwise you could be facing a bit of a wait. The tables fill up very quickly!

We booked the day before, arrived, and were told the kitchen was closed, just like that, unbelievable. The service was appalling.
