A lovely, traditional restaurant, first-class service, everything was great... except the sauerkraut was a bit bland.

The food is excellent. The service is very friendly. Even our dog was served water without us asking. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful lunch in the charming garden restaurant. Our pike-perch with crayfish and the pork cheeks were excellent. We assume that great emphasis is placed on top-quality ingredients. The service was very attentive and refreshingly friendly. We look forward to our next visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bartholdi restaurant in Colmar. The terrace at the back of the restaurant is very pleasant, shaded, and peaceful, with a superb location at the foot of the Dominican church. It's a truly delightful setting for a relaxing lunch or dinner, away from the hustle and bustle of the busier streets. The service is attentive, refined, and refined, making the experience even more enjoyable. You can feel a genuine concern for the welcome and comfort of the guests. An elegant, well-located restaurant that we highly recommend for a wonderful time in Colmar.

Nice place, it's a shame the food doesn't live up to the rest.

Special asparagus evening. €45 for the €70 menu with wine pairing. Everything was perfect.

It was recommended to us by the hotel La Maison des Teres, where we stayed. It was a big disappointment. Very slow service, we waited 15 minutes for a menu, 15 to take our order. The food was mostly tasteless.

It's a restaurant! A little old-fashioned, but with all the right credentials. Obviously, the Choucroute 8 Garnitures takes center stage, especially since Alsatian cuisine isn't exactly known for its sheer number of dishes. The white asparagus is excellent, and the ham (the very good cooked ham) is the perfect accompaniment. Equally obvious: the Alsatian wine, of course!

A culinary masterpiece! This restaurant is a must for all food lovers. Every bite was a poem, every dish a culinary adventure. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, the presentation a work of art. The service was professional and attentive, the ambiance authentic and inviting. The selection of regional wines was perfectly paired with the dishes. The five-course menu was a composition of fish and meat, every note perfectly harmonized. The chef cooked with love and passion; every dish was a masterpiece. A true explosion of flavors! Bravo!

What a change! Everything has gone down except the prices. What a shame. Loyal customers of the previous owners. We won't be back. What a pity.

Bartholdi has changed a lot since the previous owners left. I'd been coming from Paris for five or six years to eat sauerkraut, and I was surprised when I asked for more cabbage to finish my charcuterie, only to be told I'd be charged extra. I argued, but I was so surprised that the plate was full of potatoes. I knew how to boil potatoes, but I'd come all the way from Paris for sauerkraut, not potatoes. I'm still outraged by this petty attitude, and I will never go back to this restaurant, which I absolutely do not recommend. I haven't posted any other reviews, and you haven't addressed the substance of my criticism.

I discovered this restaurant over a year ago, where I often enjoyed their delicious kidneys, which I raved about. I wanted to repeat the experience today, unaware that the owners had changed. To my surprise, the recipe was no longer the same; the kidney wasn't sliced but presented whole, which didn't meet my expectations at all and put me off a bit. I was very disappointed, but the servers were fantastic. They offered to take it back to the kitchen and slice it, which they did. However, the sauce and side dish were excellent, but the portion of kidneys was much smaller than before. It would be helpful to specify on the menu whether the kidney is served whole or, if so, offered either whole or sliced, as the accompanying sauce with the vegetables was excellent.

This place is dirty and dishonest. I wanted to compare two different Pinot Gris for an aperitif, so I ordered one glass each of the 2016 (9.2€ per glass) and the 2018 (4.2€ per glass). When the glasses arrived, my mother took a sip of the 2016. When I tried to take a sip myself, I noticed a small fly in it. I asked for a new one, but she said, "It's still alive, so it's fine; it's just swimming around," and tried to scoop it up with a spoon and return it. I protested, and they finally replaced it. However, when my mother tried the new one, she said it tasted different, so I tried it myself and it was clearly the same as the cheaper 2018. However, even after I complained, they insisted it was the 2016, so I couldn't protest any further. Maybe it was because they knew I was a tourist and wouldn't be a repeat customer, but I ended up paying more than double the price for a regular Pinot Gris, which ruined the mood of my meal. I regret not leaving the moment they tried to give me the wine with the fly in it. There is a comment on this post saying "This is not our restaurant," but it is definitely this restaurant. I visited in November 2019, but the comment was deleted, so I am reposting it. They may no longer be serving 2016 or 2018 wines, but it is true that this is a dirty restaurant that could do something like this again.

An impeccable gastronomic experience in the heart of Colmar. Excellent food, a perfectly elegant setting, and amazing service. The staff are the heart of the place: friendly, clear in their explanations, and masterful in pairings. A quality French dinner that I will fondly remember. A well-deserved five stars.
